Cancer care has evolved in recent years thanks to new pharmaceutical and technological innovations that expand precision medicine in cancer care.1,2 Interventional radiology continues to develop, offering more minimally invasive procedures to improve patient care.3 For example, low-dose computed tomography has demonstrated success in screening for lung cancer, proton therapy offers targeted doses of radiation directly to tumors in patients with breast or prostate cancer, and genomic monitoring of patient biomarkers allows providers to assess and adjust the effectiveness of radiation therapy.
